Pink Pearly Wedding Day Card

As usual hubby requested a card very last minute!!!!  He needed a Wedding Day card!

As I had recently purchased some new Spellbinders Dies I decided I would try to emulate American Sue who appears on Create and Craft as she make some fabulous cards.  Sue also has a blog on here which is Particraft – if you would like to take a peak.

For the card I began by embossing a piece of white pearl card using the Kimmy Luvs heart folder I had used on some Wedding stationery and fastened a piece of the pretty heart ribbon, again left over from the Wedding stationery, to the card.

I then found a cut, fold and tuck topper in my crafty stash made from the same white pearl card, this had been cut out using a die which came with my Double-Do XL when I purchased it – this folds over to make hearts.

To separate the two piece of white pearl card I cut some plain white card with a Spellbinders Die and layered the two together.

These two pieces were then placed on top of the embossed card using decoupage tape.

Using a Spellbinders border die I cut some pink Stardream card – left over from some Wedding stationery and placed it on the card.

I cut the same border again and turned it up the other way before attaching it to the previous piece and the card.

A pretty pearl flower embellishment was added to the centre.

Pretty pink pearls were added to the double border.

The same border was attached to the bottom of the card along with a greeting topper reading ‘Congratulations’.

Perhaps not quite as good as American Sue’s makes but a good try – even if I do say so myself!!!

The Table Plan for my niece’s wedding

I used a Mount Board for the base of the  Table Plan.  To this was added a piece of White Stardream Card.  I then cut out black circles to depict the tables.  The names were printed onto Silver Stardream and then cut out with a Spellbinders Die.  I expect you have worked out that the wedding theme colours were White, Silver and Black by now.

The header was also made using Spellbinders Dies, and the top table was cut into a rectangle with the corners rounded.  I was lucky to find some lovely black gems in our local PoundShop which were in a long string to add a little bling.

The Bride and Groom didn’t see this until they walked into the Reception room to have some photos taken with the wedding cake as I had to take it with me on the day.  Nevertheless, they loved it.

Place cards for my niece's wedding

I used the same Spellbinders Die that was used for the invitation pockets for these. I printed out the names onto Silver Stardream Card first then cut them out with the die, I then folded them in half using my Hougie Board, so they would stand. Here's a photo:

Football decoupage for 24th April birthday

I have a lot of crafty stash - some of which has been lying around for a good few years now!  This year I am on a mission to use up as much of my old stash as possible when I need to make a card.  Some of the stash in question are some mini decoupage books - the downside of these is that they are not die cuts, they all have to be cut out by hand - I told you I had possessed some stash a long time - I now prefer die cut decoupage.

On checking in the book containing sporting items I found this football decoupage which was ideal for a card for our friend whose birthday is on 24th April - especially as he supports Wolves and one of the players is in a golden yellow strip.

At the moment I am totally in love with embossing folders and cutting dies which I can use in my Double-Do XL.  I keep telling myself that I don't need the Grand Calibur and every time I see it on Create and Craft I sit on my hands to stop myself from ordering it!!!

I began by embossing some gold and green mirri card using the Spellbinders M-Bossabilities ES-006 reversible folder - this one is the So Trendy folder.  I then cut the gold mirri card using a Labels Seventeen die and the green with Labels Twenty-Five and layered them up ready to add the decoupage.  Everything was now ready to add to the blank 7x5 white card.

I thought this side of the folder looked a little like footballs.
I had already assembled the decoupage ready to be placed on the card.

I used an outline sticker greeting and cut a smaller piece of green mirri card using Labels Twenty-Five and also added an outline sticker football boot and football.
Here's the finished card.

Thank you cards

After the wedding my niece asked if I could make 30 Thank you cards for them to send out.  I asked if she would like them to be the same as the Invitations had been as that would make life very simple for me and she agreed.

I printed them out, rounded the corners and matted them onto plain white 7x5 cards.  The insides were left plain for them to write inside.  I posted them off to her along with 30 envelopes.  Cheap as chips to make – and saved them a fortune.
